Advanced Practitioner Training offered by A Safe Passage

Dear Sponsor!

First off I wish to commend you for your interest in sponsoring this very important workshop. The information shared will surely impact the way participants provide support to women in the childbearing year after attending. You are doing a tremendous service to your community.

Your greatest task during this time is to promote the workshop in your city and surrounding area (if there are potential participants who are likely to travel to the workshop). Interested parties may also include shelter workers, massage therapists and primary health care providers. Activities usually include distributing posters, speaking with interested groups and posting in local print media.

I depend on my sponsors to locate local groups and individuals who are likely to attend this workshop. Sponsors are also responsible for helping to find a suitable location for the workshop. Since the minimum enrollment is 10 and the maximum is 20, you'll need to look for a location that would comfortably accommodate the maximum number. I will cover all location costs excluding parking.

Once the location has been approved, you will be asked to direct applicants to the workshop location (either by phone or maps for out-of-towners). If requested, you will also provide participants with information to help them make travel plans and to book their accommodations.

All promotional expenses will be covered by me. This includes photocopying, postage and envelopes, telephone expenses directly related to the promotion of the workshop, advertising costs, location fees and rental of audio-visual equipment.

Remember that we'll be working together to make the workshop a positive experience. We'll be in frequent phone and email contact to keep each other updated.

You will pay nothing to attend the workshop you sponsor as long as we have filled our minimum requirement of 10.

I know together we can make this workshop a success and that the lives of women and children will be positively impacted by the new skills participants will acquire.

Sponsorship Agreement

Responsibilities

If you would like to sponsor a Safe Passage workshop in your area, your instructor would be responsible for the following:

• All expenses of registration brochures and support materials, including AV equipment (VCRs, TV, overhead screen etc.).
• Print and mail registration brochures.
• Provide training manuals to be given to participants.
• Be responsible for cost of all catering services.
• Provide advertising templates to be used for posting to on-line groups and print media.

In collaboration with the instructor, the sponsor agrees to:

• Arrange space for a maximum of 20 people, excluding instructor and sponsor.
• Provide audiovisual equipment as requested by instructor.
• Arrange catering to provide a light lunch and snacks.
• Agree to be a local contact person to field calls from interested persons or direct calls to instructor within 24 hours if unable to return call.
• Mail out registration forms within 24 hours of contact from interested persons.
• Handle registrations and collect money.
• Mail to instructor once they are collected.
• Keep updated inquiry list and registration information.
• Advertise the workshop locally by distributing posters, contacting local agencies who may be interested in workshop, contact local papers for advertising costs etc.
• Post workshop information to relevant on-line lists and groups.
• Connect via email on an on-going basis to collaborate and provide updated information about registration.
• Keep expense form and receive approval for expenses in excess of $10.00 and keep receipts of all workshop expenses for reimbursement.
• Fill the workshop with a minimum of 10 participants through local promotion of the workshop.

If a workshop should need to be cancelled by the instructor for any reason, full refunds will be given. If a workshop should be cancelled due to inadequate registration, full refunds will be given. Any financial loss will be the responsibility of the instructor, e.g. deposits on space, and you will be reimbursed for expenses incurred.

I agree to the above stated responsibilities and understand the scope of my duties and those of the workshop facilitator. I understand that I will not receive any compensation over and above incurred expenses should the workshop be cancelled for any reason.
